Four Homage
Four different feelings have led to the accomplishment of these pieces: the meditation
to which a person can and must dedicate when he finds the time to listen to himself; the gratification
to be what you are in a particular instant of the everyday life; living an intense feeling provocated
by the presence in the heart of the image of beauty and, at the same time, by the nostalgia generated
by this one when we need its image to transfigure into concrete reality; the experience of the
untimeliness as a creative act in which viscerally liberate your own energy.
Given the diversity of the situations that have presided over the genesis of these pieces, it’s easy to
realize that they are not in strict relationship between each other, not even that they constitute a
unitary work. Nevertheless they have been reunited in the attempt to trace a route that from the
contemplation, through the reflection and the search, moves towards the improvisation as final action
in which what has been included by means of the meditation becomes clear in the impetus of an immediate
and vigorous gesture.
The term “Tribute” is not to be meant as an act through which I have wanted to propose a peculiar
style of composition, but rather as thankfulness towards a particular type of feelings that binds
me more to certain figures of the music world than to others. I wanted to try to figure out what
their art was communicating to me, which were their feelings and their way to catch the meaning of
the world. So I have filtered their music through my being bringing to light the sensations experienced
through new music.
All this makes me believe that it is necessary, (in a period in which common sensibility has become so
coarse that the true art is no longer felt as so) to go to discover the beauty and to look for, in every
artistic form, the poetry that unites the man with the Gods who have created him.
With ours thoughts, we have arrived to the peak of abstraction, to the corpse of the spiritual world;
we deal with art as a chemist or a physicist deal with matter, leaving it bonded to space and time,
and not letting it to create valid thoughts for the eternity.
The true poetry, the true art, is born when we overcome the moment grabbing it in its eternity.
