Sound and color
““The interior need to express feelings that can synthetically originate while listening
a piece of music and from the emotional and spiritual charge coming from a shape and a colour of a painting,
made me seek a system through which I can turn the easiest chromatic vibrations into sound vibrations.”
A short conference given by me at the conservatory of Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico in 2004 begins like this. In these pdf
files is introduced, in main lines, one part of my research about the relationship between sound and color.
Here, the relationship existing between sounds and colors that represent them or between the colors and the
sounds that cross them are described.
Starting from the theories of Kandinsky, I have tried to find the biunivocal correspondences through which
the first ones could evoke the others, proposing one precise correspondence between the colors of chromatic
range and the notes of the scale.
